Giancarlo Abete has claimed that the FIGC have ‘total confidence’ in Cesare Prandelli ahead of the World Cup.
The Coach has recently signed a two-year extension with the national team after months of negotiations.
And the leader of the governing body in Italy has insisted that they always wanted the former Fiorentina man to stay.
“There’s no clause, or anything like that, that would see us part if we have a negative World Cup,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.
“We assessed what he did, and came to the conclusion that he deserved longer - Second at the European Championship, third at the Confederations Cup and great qualifications campaigns.
“Prandelli has our total confidence and we wanted to have stability.
“As long as Cesare wants to continue, we’ll have him.”
