Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has claimed that everyone at the club believes they can claim third place at the end of the season.
The Viola beat Verona 5-3 on Sunday, but are still nine points behind Napoli who are currently in the last Champions League place.
However, the board member is confident that the Tuscan outfit can make it to Europe’s top table.
“We have started a new project here and the Della Valle family have asked us to entertain the fans,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.
“We want to play fun, purposeful football. And I think that’s what we’re doing at the moment.
“We all believe we can get into that third place, although we’re aware how difficult it will be. We’re strong all over the pitch, so we just have to do our best and see what happens.”
Prade then commented on key injuries to Mario Gomez, Giuseppe Rossi and Josip Ilicic.
“We spent €40m on those players, and for one reason or another, they’ve all been missing for a lot of the season.
“When they return, our future will be brighter, that’s for sure.
“Rossi is working really hard, but without physical contact at the moment. He’s a true talent, and we hope to have him fit for the Coppa final.”
