Erick Thohir has reflected on Inter’s hope to be competing for Champions League qualification next season, and transfer plans for the summer.

The Nerazzurri are set for a top five finish to end the season in which the Indonesian completed his takeover of the club.

“I told the players that the last games are important for us to make our evaluations,” owner and President Thohir began this week to Indonesian outfit Bola.

“I hope that we can stay in the European places and look to the Champions League places as early as next year.

“In the summer we will sign a striker and he will be at a European level. In the list there are many candidates, but the hope is to get a player at European level.

“We need to sign a striker. The rumours indicate players like Dzeko, Torres and Morata, it would be good of one of those came to us.

“And any Italian targets? Milan gives priority to Italian players, the history of Inter is built with foreigners.

“We will try to sign some Italian players, but according to our philosophy, we are not obliged to have an Italian team.”
