Napoli defender Federico Fernandez says the opportunity to play for the Partenopei is special for any Argentine.
The 25-year-old added that it would be a dream for him to play at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
“For an Argentine, to play for Napoli is always special,” Fernandez told Fox Sports. “It’s not just because it was Maradona’s team, but also because here the fans follow football in exactly the same way as they do in Argentina.
“The team is strong in spite of the summer departures. The club have signed players who are doing well.
“Playing in the World Cup for me would be the pinnacle, but we can’t make mistakes.
“As Maradona said to us, we will need a bit of luck.”
