Adem Ljajic admitted it was “a special game for me” against Fiorentina and warned Roma won’t give up on the title.
The ex-Viola striker provided the decisive assist for Radja Nainggolan’s goal in a 1-0 result at the Stadio Franchi.
“I know this stadium so well and it was a special game for me with many emotions, but once on the field I have to give my all for my team,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
This eighth consecutive Serie A win has mathematically secured Roma’s spot in the Champions League group phase next season.
“It went well, we won and got the victory. Before the match our objective was to qualify for the Champions League and we achieved it. Now we have to look forward and will not give up.
“There isn’t much of a chance for the Scudetto, but we won’t give up anyway. Juventus still have to play at the Olimpico, after all.”
Ljajic had intimated he was unhappy at the lack of playing time and refused to be drawn on his Roma future.
“As I said before, I want to end the season as well as possible, then we’ll sit around a table and talk with the club.”
