Malaga sporting director Mario Armando Husillos believes that Oleksandr Iakovenko would love to leave Fiorentina.
The Ukrainian forward spent six months in Tuscany this season, before being shipped out to the Liga side on loan in January.
Since then, the forward has been a more prominent figure for Bernd Schuster’s side, and the board member believes that a permanent move would be good for everyone.
“We worked really hard in January to bring Oleksandr from Fiorentina,” he told Area Malaguista.
“But there is nothing in his contract that allows us to keep the player outright.
“I know though that he would love to stay in Malaga. He’s happy here and we’d be delighted if he could stay.
“We’ll see what happens.”
