Ballardini: 'Bologna can survive'

Davide Ballardini admits it is “a very difficult moment” for Bologna, but he still believes in safety.

The Rossoblu are stuck in the relegation zone after today’s 3-0 home defeat to Fiorentina, meaning they have picked up just two points from the last six rounds.

“We did very well in the opening 20 minutes, then the goal came from our mistake. Fiorentina are a very strong side and everything became more complicated,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Is this the most difficult moment of the season? It is a very difficult moment, but in my view Bologna have what it takes to emerge from this situation.

“We must try to be more solid, not give our opponents the chance to hurt us, and then score more goals. The fans were extraordinary today, supporting the team from start to finish. The rest is up to us to give our all until the end.

“There are five teams fighting for safety in a mini-League now. Chievo are top and we are two points off them, level with Sassuolo. We’ll see what happens.”
