There are concerns for Gonzalo Higuain after he was stretchered off in tears during Napoli’s 0-0 draw at Inter.
The striker was pulling the trigger in the final minutes of the game at San Siro when his shot was bravely blocked off by Marco Andreolli.
Pipita was in visible pain, as he followed through and appeared to kick his right ankle against Andreolli’s shin pad.
“Gonzalo Higuain has a trauma to the right ankle, which will be evaluated over the next few days,” read a statement from the club.
Initial reports from the stadium suggest it is only a heavy bruise with a slight sprain and he won’t even be taken to hospital for an X-Ray.
There are still fears for Higuain, as Napoli play the Coppa Italia Final against Fiorentina next Saturday.
However, those concerned for Argentina and the World Cup should be reassured by these reports.
