Pellegrino: 'Catania's last chance'

Maurizio Pellegrino won his Catania debut and said an upset against Verona today could “open an important scenario.”

“There is a flicker of hope and we have to be optimistic considering the performance last week,” said the Coach of his surprise win over Sampdoria.

“We will try to be balanced when attacking and defending, considering when we get the opportunity to hurt our opponents we need to take it.

“This is a real team that is fighting for the victory. It is a test of our maturity. A win would open an important scenario.”

Catania had seemed to be done for 10 days ago, but on 23 points they are still within five points of safety.

Mariano Andujar, Sergio Almiron and Giuseppe Bellusci are still sidelined.
