Torino President Urbano Cairo says both members of the club’s strike duo, Alessio Cerci and Ciro Immobile, deserve to go to the World Cup.
The pair have starred for Toro throughout a hugely impressive season for Giampiero Ventura’s side, which sees them sixth in Serie A with three matches remaining.
Cairo also remains hopeful that the Granata will be able to hold on to their key players for next season.
“The Europa League? For the moment we can only smell it,” Cairo told Sky Sport. “There are still three important and difficult matches to play.
“We are close to the objective and we will play with great determination.
“Cerci and Immobile? They deserve to be in contention for the World Cup. Immobile is showing he is a player of real quality with his goals and contributions to the team.
“Immobile’s future? We will sit down with Juve and together we will find the best solution for him and both teams.
“We will look to keep Cerci and try to sort something out with Immobile. Consolidating and having another great season with us would be important for him.”
