Giampaolo Pazzini can’t wait for the Milan Derby so he can end the “taboo” against his former club.

The Derby della Madonnina is coming up this weekend and sees two teams fighting to qualify for the Europa League rather than the Champions League.

“We want to win the derby for us and for our fans,” Pazzini told Milan Channel.

“It’s an important week, we are coming off a defeat to Roma and so must prepare in the best way possible.

“The derby is always a special game and I want to do well as an ex-Inter player. I’ve never scored in the derby, so it’d be good to end that taboo.

“We also want to give the joy of victory to our fans with a good result in the derby, particularly during this difficult year when we haven’t held the positions Milan are accustomed to.

“This derby can be an opportunity to bring satisfaction to us, the fans and the club.”

Even three wins in their remaining three rounds might not be enough to put Milan in Europe next season, as there are five teams in a one-point radius fighting for sixth place.

Inter appear to have fifth locked down, but Torino, Lazio and Verona are on 52 points with Parma and Milan on 51.

“We know there’s not much time left, but we have to get as many points as possible and then see what we’ve been able to achieve,” added Pazzini.

“In these three rounds the objective is to get nine points.”
