Christian Abbiati believes that this season’s Milan derby will be ‘even more important’ than usual.
The Rossoneri face Inter on Sunday looking for the three points that could take them to sixth position.
But with both San Siro sides enduring a tough campaign, the goalkeeper has admitted that this match is crucial for the season.
“This year the derby will be even more important than usual because our season has been insufficient,” he told Milan Channel.
“Every detail could make the difference, but we are ready to go.
“The team is focused on winning the match. We are all working hard, focusing on the physical side.
“But we also know that psychologically we have to be ready for the game.
“The veterans, like myself, have to try and give the young lads a sense of calm. That’s the state of mind we have to go into the match with.”
