Racing Avellaneda President Victor Blanco confirmed Diego Milito “just needs to resolve his issues with Inter” before joining on a free transfer.

The Argentine patron has repeatedly stated in recent weeks that he intends to bring Milito back to South America.

He was in Italy this week and met with Milito after the 0-0 draw with Napoli at San Siro.

“We had a first meeting, which I can say was very positive,” Blanco told America & Closs radio in Argentina.

“Now we have decided to meet again after the 20th. Milito just needs to resolve his issues with Inter and, if he decides, to negotiate his exit.

“Milito’s desire is to assemble a competitive squad, which is what we all want.”

Racing are not willing to pay a transfer fee, so hope Inter will release Milito from his contract ahead of time.

This is an approach the club has already taken in the past to get expensive wages off their books.
