Giovanni Trapattoni’s talks to become Morocco head Coach look to have been unsuccessful, with L’Equipe saying Badou Zaki has got the job.

Former Italy and Republic of Ireland Coach Trapattoni was seen as the outright favourite to take on the post, reported in midweek as within days of being unveiled and commenting himself on such hope.

However, L’Equipe are leading French media reports that control of the Lions of the Atlas has been handed to former international goalkeeper Badou Zaki.

The 55-year-old former Morocco international was seen as one of the other candidates for the position, alongside Dick Advocaat and Herve Renard.

It is understood that Zaki will be officially presented as Morocco Coach later on Friday.
