Di Francesco trusts Sassuolo

Eusebio Di Francesco trusts Sassuolo are “concentrated for the victory” against Genoa that could mean Serie A safety.

It kicks off at the Mapei Stadium at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT), click here for a match preview.

The Neroverdi are in their debut top flight campaign and had seemed destined for the drop until recently, when beating Fiorentina 4-3 to clamber out of the bottom three.

“Scoring four goals in Florence is not easy,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We risked a few things at the end, but that is normal, as Fiorentina are a great team who play excellent football.

“We had difficulties as many players were tired and asking to come off, but I only had three substitutions available. The cramp was not just down to a physical aspect, but also a psychological one, as we use up so much mental energy before the game begins.”

Sassuolo also risk being distracted, as a victory against Genoa and Bologna failing to beat Catania would secure their safety a week early.

“The most important game is our own and we must try to get the three points, not thinking about the others. Only afterwards can we look at their result.

“Genoa haven’t had great performances recently, but they have strong individuals and this is why we should be wary.

“Are Sassuolo too euphoric right now? It’s only right we have enthusiasm, as this year we got slapped many times, so I’m convinced we won’t get the wrong approach.”
Alessandro Longhi and Marcello Gazzola are suspended, while Thomas Manfredini, Francesco Acerbi, Marius Alexe and Paolo Bianco are unavailable.

Sassuolo squad for Genoa: Pegolo, Polito, Pomini, Antei, Ariaudo, Cannavaro, Mendes, Pucino, Rosi, Terranova, Ziegler, Biondini, Brighi, Chibsah, Magnanelli, Marrone, Missiroli, Berardi, Farias, Floccari, Floro Flores, Masucci, Sanabria, Sansone, Zaza
