Inter defender Rolando and Lazio benchwarmer Helder Postiga are in Portugal’s provisional World Cup squad.
Coach Paulo Bento will cut the side down to a final 23 by June 2.
Some of those called up have suffered from several injury problems, including Postiga, who barely featured since joining Lazio on loan in January.
Ricardo Quaresma is called up two years after his last international appearance.
Portugal will face Germany, Ghana and the USA in Group G.
