Serie A has 99 players in the provisional World Cup squads, second only to the Premier League in Europe.
The countries going to the tournament in Brazil next month have named their provisional squads, usually up to 30 players, which will be whittled down to 23 for the competition itself.
Sky Sport Italia calculated that the Premier League had the most call-ups with 132 players, but Serie A was in second place with 99.
The German Bundesliga followed in third with 95 and only 74 came from La Liga in Spain, while France’s Ligue 1 had 66 call-ups.
