Chievo’s Cyril Thereau says talks between his agent and Roma are ongoing and he has encouraged talk of a possible transfer.

The forward has impressed this term for the Flying Donkeys and, despite only signing a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the Gialloblu in September, is seen as a target for a number of clubs this summer.

However, for the 31-year-old Frenchman, a move to Roma is first choice and most apparent.

“I have heard of interest from Roma. I’d like it to materialise, the Giallorossi are playing the best football in Italy,” Thereau has told the Gazzetta dello Sport today.

“Given the formation of Rudi Garcia and the development of an attacking style of play, I could play all the roles in the attack. The forwards at Roma are very mobile.

“Garcia? In France he has done very well and is known for his achievements, but I have never had the pleasure of meeting him.

“Sabatini? The director and my agent have spoken several times about my transfer. It is not made more difficult for the sale of Borriello, as a link to my salary.”
