Thomas Vermaelen’s agent has revealed that a number of Italian clubs have made contact about a possible deal.
The Belgium international has been a peripheral figure at the Emirates Stadium this season, playing second fiddle to Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
And after rumours that Napoli were interested in his services earlier this week, the centre-back’s representative has admitted that several Serie A teams have been in touch.
“Many Italian clubs have shown an interest,” Alex Kroes told La Repubblica.
“But we’ll have to wait until after the World Cup to discuss Thomas’ future.”
