Sinisa Mihajlovic again refused to commit his future to Sampdoria, but praised the team after their Serie A survival.
The Coach spoke to Sky Sport Italia after a 3-3 draw with Udinese rounded off their campaign.
“We started badly – the team did, as I wasn’t there yet – but we played some very good games and nobody expected to secure safety with so many rounds to go when I arrived in November.
“We used up a lot of energy to manage that comeback and so in the last few matches, even though we played fairly well, we were lacking something and lost. Today we could’ve won or lost, but we drew, so it’s the right result.
“For my tenure I give the team eight out of 10, though we could have aspired to something more if we had changed mentality.
“The lads worked so hard from the moment I arrived and we focused on their confidence. We always played to win and not to avoid defeat, which is important for a team fighting for its Serie A survival.
“After achieving that target, a bit of a psychological dip was only normal, as we were drained.”
Sampdoria have offered Mihajlovic a contract extension, but so far he has not given an answer.
“As I said yesterday, everything with regards to my future and the next sporting season will be discussed only from next Sunday.”
