Tassotti: 'Reasons to leave Milan'

Milan assistant manager Mauro Tassotti confessed tonight could be his last game. “There are many reasons to leave.”

He was a star defender in the Grande Milan, then from 2001 assistant manager to Carlo Ancelotti, Leonardo, Massimiliano Allegri and now Clarence Seedorf.

“There is this possibility that I could go,” Tassotti told Sky Sport Italia ahead of tonight’s match with Sassuolo.

“There are many reasons to leave. Stories begin and at times they don’t end. Let’s wait and see what happens.”

Tassotti had been offered the Lazio job last year, but opted against taking it, though it could now be time to spread his wings.

Milan still have a slim chance of qualifying for Europe, but would need to beat Sassuolo, hope Torino lose and that Parma fail to win.

“It doesn’t just depend on us, so we must do our bit and try to win,” Tassotti told Milan Channel.

“In football there have always been surprises, so let’s hope for one tonight. We will also try to win for the fans.

“Even if there isn’t much at stake, we are playing for our dignity, which seems to be enough for me.”
