Italy will begin preparations on the pitch today for their World Cup campaign, as a first set of training sessions is held.

The 30 players listed in Cesare Prandelli’s provisional squad for the tournament, and back-up goalkeeper Antonio Mirante, reported in to Coverciano on Monday evening to begin the first training retreat ahead of this summer.

A first session in front of the cameras is at 9.30am UK time today, ahead of Prandelli then facing the media from 12.30pm UK time and a closed training workout following on at 3.30pm UK time.

Training will continue until Thursday afternoon, when the players will break until reconvening the following Sunday, where a week’s build-up will precede Friday’s journey out to London for Saturday May 31’s friendly with Republic of Ireland.
