Bologna forward Rolando Bianchi is recovering after a benign tumour was removed from his foot.
The club released a statement confirming he had gone under the knife earlier today with Professor Giannini.
He was suffering from Morton’s neuroma, a benign tumour of the intermetatarsal plantar nerve.
It can cause the foot to feel numb and is essentially fibrous tissue formed around the nerve.
Bianchi is 31 years old and before Bologna he played for Atalanta, Cagliari, Reggina, Manchester City, Lazio and Torino.
