Milan’s Nigel De Jong believes Lazio would be a good destination for his Holland teammate Stefan De Vrij.
The 22-year-old defender has been the subject of recent interest from the Biancocelesti, with Italian media sources claiming a deal has been agreed for his transfer from Feyenoord.
“I spoke a bit to Stefan about it on Thursday,” De Jong said to Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad. “He wanted to know what I thought about Italian football because Lazio are interested in him.
“If he goes there, it would be a good step for his career. In Italy you can become a real defender, here in Holland you have to also be able to play a bit in the midfield.
“Lazio would be a good choice for him.”
