But the goalscorer has conceded that it is still his dream to make the final 23, with the hard work starting tomorrow.

“We were fortunate enough to choose a date that would not impact on me being with the national team,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“However, I have realised my first dream, which was to marry my wife.
“Now I hope to achieve my second goal – to go to the World Cup wearing the Italy shirt.
“I’m working hard every day to try and convince the Coach that I can be a part of the full squad.”
