Shokdran Mustafi has admitted that being picked for Germany’s World Cup squad would be ‘extraordinary’.
The 22-year-old was a surprise inclusion in Joachim Low’s preliminary squad as the Mannschaft prepare for the tournament in Brazil this summer.
And the Sampdoria midfielder has conceded that it’s been a whirlwind season, that would be topped by selection for the final 23.
“I’ve achieved most of what I wanted to this season,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’ve earned a starting spot for Sampdoria and I’ve been named for the national team.
“To play at a World Cup would be something really special for me. It would be extraordinary.
“A few years ago I was watching all the games on television – now I could be going. It’s a dream.”
