Lorenzo Insigne’s agent believes that the Napoli striker deserves a place on the plane to Brazil.
The Partenopei goalscorer is in the Italian national team’s initial 30-man squad for the tournament, but is one of several strikers fighting for a spot in the final 23-man list.
But the player’s representative has claimed that the big games don’t scare the 22-year-old.
“I would pick him for the squad,” Fabio Andreotti told Radio CRC. “On the big occasion he never shies away.
“The feeling is that [Coach Cesare] Prandelli has 15-16 names that are certain to go, whilst the other positions are up for grabs.
“Lorenzo is feeling good physically, but I think it’s psychologically where Prandelli will judge the players.”
The agent then commented on Insigne’s season at club level.
“It was an important campaign for Napoli, what with all the changes. I think Lorenzo adapted well to [new Coach Rafa] Benitez, and is going to be stronger as a result next season.”
