The Roma legend is entering his 21st season as a professional footballer, and the 37-year-old has insisted that he’ll keep going until his skills desert him.

“I grew up kicking a football and I will die doing the same thing,” he told GQ.

“For sure, I will stay in the game – doing something, talking about football.

“But I’ll be the first person to throw in the towel as soon as I start making a fool out of myself.”

With the World Cup approaching this summer, the forward commented on his favourite tournament memory.

“Berlin 2006 is definitely the highlight. That really was a dream come true.”
