Fiorentina are seen as in contract talks with a number of players, but at a most delicate position with Alberto Aquilani.
The Viola are seen as in more straightforward negotiations with Borja Valero and Gonzalo Rodriguez on extending their respective deals at the club, whilst they are also described as ‘optimistic’ about keeping hold of David Pizarro once more.
Goalkeeper Neto is also believed to be closing in on a new two-year renewal at the Artemio Franchi, which would include an option for a third year and a pay rise from his current €600,000 annual salary.
However, the Gazzetta dello Sport report that Fiorentina’s plans to renew Aquilani’s deal too are less certain.
Whilst both the club and player are understood to be keen to continue their relationship, the Viola are believed to be pressing to reduce earnings from a current €1.7m plus bonuses, where Aquilani is seen as reluctant to oblige.
