Giuseppe Biava has revealed he chose to leave Lazio for personal reasons and now dreams of joining Atalanta.
The 37-year-old brought his four-year stay with the Biancocelesti to an end after turning down the offer of a new contract at Stadio Olimpico.
Speaking to Eco di Bergamo, the veteran defender said he wants to spend more time with his family and that to do this, a spell at his local boyhood side would be ideal.
“I turned down a certain deal, but after a long time far away from home I want to be close to my wife and daughter,” Biava said.
“Lotito tried in every way to keep me, he offered me a new contract and a future as a director, but I refused for personal reasons.
“Now my dream is to play for Atalanta. As a boy they refused me a trial, now I hope they will take me.”
