Roma fans can rest after the club confirmed that defender Dodo will not need surgery following a knee injury.

The Brazilian youngster came off during the Giallorossi’s friendly against Orlando City last Friday, with an initial diagnosis suggesting that the 22-year-old could be out for six months with ligament damage.

However, in a statement this afternoon, the capital outfit have revealed that the full-back will be assessed again in 10 days, but is unlikely to go under the knife.

However, in a statement this afternoon, the capital outfit have revealed that the full-back will be assessed again in 10 days, but is unlikely to go under the knife.

“This morning Dodô underwent specialist medical examinations that were performed by Prof. Cerulli at the Policlinico Gemelli, revealing a sprain to his left knee,” it read on their official website.

“At the moment the condition is not such as to require surgery.

“The situation will be monitored over the next 7 to 10 days with further medical checks to be carried out.”
