Cagliari forward Victor Ibarbo says he is ‘honoured’ by a transfer link to Napoli and admits he would like Champions League football next year.
Napoli are increasingly reported as on the lookout for another striker during the summer transfer window and have once more been paired with the 24-year-old.
Currently on duty with Colombia as part of their provisional squad building up to the World Cup, the Cagliari man has encouraged such rumours.
“Napoli? It is an honour to know I am thought of by such a prestigious club,” Ibarbo is quoted by the Corriere dello Sport as saying this week.
“Next year I want to play in the Champions League. I want to play in Europe.
“If a team that is so important is following me, and if a great Coach like Rafa Benitez is thinking of me, then I can only be happy.”
