Four Italy-based players have been included in Chile’s 23-man World Cup squad, announced this evening.
Juventus midfield duo Arturo Vidal and Mauricio Isla are joined by Atalanta’s Carlos Carmona and Cagliari’s Mauricio Pinilla in an attack-minded selection made by Coach Jorge Sampaoli.
Vidal’s participation in the tournament had come into question when he underwent surgery on his knee last month. He has yet to play since, but the South Americans are confident he will be fit come their opening match in Brazil.
Chile are in Group B of the competition, alongside Spain, Holland and Australia.
