The 29-year-old had surgery on the broken tibia today and is likely to be out for six months, but his representative has claimed that they have no problem with the Rossoneri bringing in a short-term replacement.
“The arrival of a new midfielder at Milan is not a problem for me or for Riccardo,” Giovanni Branchini told reporters.
“To be honest, right now that is the last thing on our minds.
“Now Montolivo will have physiotherapy before going on holiday.”
