Alessandro Matri has been identified in Italian media today as newly-returned Serie A side Palermo’s first transfer target this summer.
The Rosanero’s President Maurizio Zamparini has indicated that he intends to strengthen the Serie B champions’ current squad with as many as five signings during the coming transfer window.
Tuttosport report today that one of their first targets will be Milan-owned striker Matri.
The 29-year-old endured a difficult six months at San Siro since transferring from Juventus last summer, and was eventually sent out for the second half of 2013-14 to Fiorentina on loan.
Palermo are described at this moment as only testing the waters, to ascertain the player’s availability and the potential to any negotiations.
