Giak: Italy can’t match salary

Emanuele Giaccherini has admitted that he would like to stay at Sunderland, for the money as much as anything else.

The Italian has endured an indifferent season in the north east of England and has been linked with a possible return to the peninsula this summer.

However, considering this possibility and whether a team like Napoli would specifically tempt him, the Italy international was honest in his reply.

“Napoli are an important team, among the best in Italy,” Giaccherini began in conversation this week with Radio Goal.

“But I have a high salary - I do not know if in Italy they will be able to match what I earn in England.

“I am happy at Sunderland, I have three years on my contract and I will stay here.”
