Javier Mascherano is described as still undecided about his future, despite his agent meeting with Barcelona yesterday.
Amid links to Napoli and former club Liverpool and speculation that he is considering leaving the Camp Nou, the 29-year-old’s representative Walter Tamer yesterday met with club officials.
It was believed that Tamer headed into this meeting seeking assurances for his client on first-team football under new Coach Luis Enrique and even a role in midfield, prioritising these aspects over any proposed contract renewal the club are seen as prepared to offer.
On from this meeting, where sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta’s presence was assumed but not confirmed, Mundo Deportivo report today that Mascherano remains with doubts over his future.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis commented earlier this week that any move for the Argentine, who turns 30 on Sunday, would need to represent good value.
