Prandelli: Everyone matters

Cesare Prandelli insists every one of his Italy World Cup squad should feel as if they will be starting every game.

The Azzurri are preparing to embark upon their campaign in Brazil but competition for starting place will be fierce.

However, the ex-Fiorentina Coach stressed that any players who miss out on playing cannot be allowed to cause unrest in the camp.

“I am convinced and it has to be like that [everyone prepared],” Prandelli told a Press conference. “At a World Cup someone can be crucial for only five minutes.

“No player can create problems because it wouldn’t be self-harming, it would be worse!

“The team needs to share its enthusiasm and I think our biggest fans will be those sat on the bench.

“We are all protagonists and we are all potentially resources, so every decision I make will be shared and accepted with enthusiasm by everyone.

“I don’t want to give the players any added motivation. It’s a given fact that when you have this enthusiasm, there is healthy competition.

“It’s this that will serve us very well.”
