The Argentina and Napoli icon yesterday branded world football’s governing body as corrupt and today focused his criticism more specifically on President Blatter.
“The multinational FIFA are lying,” Maradona said during an interview at a publicity event.
“Bill Gates was rich because he earned the money, Blatter takes $4000m without doing anything!
“How can the winners [of the World Cup] only earn $35m if FIFA earn $4000m?”
The 53-year-old then commented briefly on the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.
“Everything is there for it to be a great World Cup. Brazil is a football country, it will be a great event for South America.”
