Luis Suarez has been back in training for Uruguay as they landed at their Belo Horizonte base on Tuesday evening.
The South American nation took part in their first session on Brazilian soil overnight, with the Liverpool striker looking in full fettle.
The former Ajax man had a knee operation last month, but Coach Oscar Tabarez has insisted that the 27-year-old is looking good.
“He's responding very well and his spirits couldn't be better. He's working full out on his physical fitness,” Tabarez told reporters.
“As we have no set deadlines, I don't know if we'll have him for the first match, for the second, for the third. If it were up to me, Suárez would play tomorrow.”
Uruguay play Italy in their final group match on June 24 in Natal.
