Italy U21 Coach Gigi Di Biagio says he would play Ciro Immobile and Mario Balotelli together against England on Saturday.
Balotelli has been Azzurri boss Cesare Prandelli’s first choice up front over the years, but the form of Immobile throughout the club season and during the World Cup build-up has led to calls for his selection against the Three Lions.
Prandelli has this week hinted that he would only play the duo together if it were forced upon him but, speaking to Mana Sport, Di Biagio holds a different opinion.
“They are compatible,” he said. “I would play with Balotelli as the main striker and with Immobile who would cover the whole pitch.”
