Verona striker Luca Toni has confirmed he is staying with the Scaligeri for at least another year.
The veteran forward enjoyed an excellent Serie A season, scoring 20 goals in the Bentegodi side’s highly impressive first campaign back in Italy’s top flight.
Speaking to Sky Sport this afternoon about his plans, the 37-year-old said it was an easy decision to remain in Veneto and described the atmosphere around the club as perfect.
“I’ve spoken to the club and we immediately came to an agreement,” Toni revealed. “I’m staying at Verona for another year and I’m very happy about that.
“I want to continue scoring goals, celebrate and help my team as much as I can.
“I hope it will be another positive year and that, together with the team, we can achieve safety as soon as possible.
“There is a perfect atmosphere here in Verona. We can create something really important.”
