Fiorentina are reportedly working towards a deal with Genoa for full-back Sime Vrsaljko, which may involve Cristiano Piccini.
La Nazione report that Viola Coach Vincenzo Montella has identified Vrsaljko as a primary transfer target this summer and requested that his club take action.
Subsequently, sporting director Daniele Prade and technical director Eduardo Macia are seen as in talks with Genoa officials over a proposed deal for the Croatia international, who started yesterday’s World Cup opening fixture against Brazil.
It is believed that the Grifone are asking for €7.5m, but that interest in Fiorentina’s 21-year-old defender Piccini may just unlock negotiations.
Fiorentina are reportedly prepared to offer Piccini, who spent last season on loan at Livorno, and €4m in cash for Vrsaljko.
It is also reported that Vrsaljko has asked Croatia teammate and Viola striker Ante Rebic for information on the Florence outfit.
