“It’s an important stadium in the history of football,” Lulic told Sky. “But when you go on the pitch you don’t think about being in the Maracana. You just think about playing and doing the best for your team.

“If the match had lasted five minutes longer maybe we could have equalised because we created a lot of chances.

“It’s a shame we conceded the goal right at the start because that complicated everything, especially against a team like Argentina.”
