Iran Coach Carlos Queiroz believes the World Cup Group F draw between his side and Nigeria was a fair result.

In what was a game badly lacking in quality and clear cut chances, the former Real Madrid boss praised his players’ discipline and said they deserve to celebrate their achievements.

"Of course people prefer to see four or five goals, I understand that,” Queiroz commented. “But for us we prefer to go home with one point.

"We played a realistic game, with a lot of tactical discipline. I want to praise my players.

"Nobody deserved to win the game. I think one point for us and one point for Nigeria was fair."
