Brazil Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was full of praise for Mexico after they held his side to a goalless draw.

“Mexico tried to play with quality and great physical strength, but both sides had chances in this game,” he told media.

“In the end, 0-0 is not a good result, but it does reflect the match. We played well against opponents of good quality.

“We wanted the victory, obviously, but you have to respect your opponents and Mexico are a very good side.”

Both Brazil and Mexico remain top of Group A with four points apiece.

This means whoever loses in tomorrow’s Cameroon-Croatia tie is mathematically out of the running for qualification.
