Juventus star Arturo Vidal said Chile “can go all the way” after knocking Spain out of the World Cup.
“We put in a good performance and are a young side who want to win,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-0 victory over the reigning champions.
This result means both Holland and Chile are mathematically qualified for the knockouts, though they face off next week to decide who tops the group.
“We can go all the way and will be the surprise package of this World Cup.”
Vidal almost had to pull out of the Chile squad after undergoing knee surgery last month, but looked more like his old self this evening.
“I am much better than in the first game. I played well today and that was very important for me.”
He has been linked with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Barcelona, so Vidal was asked about his future with Juventus.
“I don’t know. I am happy at Juve, but right now I only want to focus on Chile.”
