Edinson Cavani warned Italy “it’ll be like a Final” when facing Uruguay in the World Cup – and they have home advantage.
The Azzurri need at least a point on Tuesday in Natal to qualify for the next round, but the location in Brazil means there are many more Uruguay fans than Italians.
“Now a huge game awaits us, certainly a difficult one against Italy. We must prepare it as best we can and put in a special performance,” PSG striker Cavani told Il Mattino newspaper.
“It is going to be like a Final. Our fans have been fantastic so far in the tournament. They remind me of Napoli supporters.”
Cavani left Napoli last summer for Paris Saint-Germain after winning the Serie A Capocannoniere title.
While there are many more Uruguayans than Italians in Natal, the locals are expected to cheer on Italy, as Brazil fans have never forgiven La Celeste for winning the 1950 World Cup in this country.
