Lazio’s Senad Lulic hopes “this experience will prove useful” after Bosnia were eliminated from the World Cup.
This was their first major tournament, but two defeats against Argentina and Nigeria made it impossible for them to progress past the group phase.
“We got off to a strong start against Nigeria and if we had been able to take the lead then nobody would’ve complained. It would’ve been a different game,” Lulic told Bosnian television.
Edin Dzeko had found the back of the net in the first half, but his goal was incorrectly ruled offside.
“We had so many scoring opportunities, including Dzeko hitting the woodwork, but unfortunately were unable to score.
“We need to learn from our mistakes and hope this experience will prove useful as our first major tournament.”
