South Korea Coach Hong Myung-Bo admits there was “an error in strategy” for their 4-2 defeat to Algeria.

“We had analysed them carefully, but the result is such that it makes me suggest there was an error in strategy,” confessed the tactician.

“The result speaks for itself. It is not good, but we must look to the future. As we conceded so many goals, there must’ve been a strategic error on our part.

“We did not underestimate Algeria, as we knew this side was very strong. The scoreline shows we were not stable or concentrated enough.”

Algeria now need just one point against Russia to secure qualification.

“We’ll do our best to the end, as that is the only option,” continued Hong Myung-Bo.

“Algeria were well-organised, structured and our defence was not up to par. We need to prepare better for the next game.”
